next artist > Daan Roosegaarde (Netherlands) Exhibited Artwork: Dune 4.1 《沙丘4.1》 (2007) Artist Statement: 藝術家陳述 Dune 4.1 is an interactive landscape which reacts to the sounds and motion of people passing by. Although the physical make-up of Dune 4.1 is high-tech, it is always about creating a sensual experience in which technology is a necessary yet invisible tool. By reacting to your sounds and motion, Dune 4.1 enables you to personalize space in real-time, almost as an extension of your skin. Within this experience, the visitor becomes conscious of his or her dynamic relation with the surrounding space. 《沙丘4.1》(Dune 4.1) 是一個互動的景觀，對聲音及動靜作出實時反應。《沙丘4.1》 的整件作品均以高科技製作，其目的在於創造一種感官經驗，而當中的技術應用是無形的重要功具。《沙丘4.1》會因由觀眾而發的聲音和動作而作出回應，讓觀眾在進入裝置環境後，實時把空間個人化，而觀眾亦因而意識到他或她與周圍空間的動態關係。 Technical statement: 技術陳述 The work is composed of hundreds of fibres which react to movement and sound made by visitors. Inside the installation, microphones and sensors detect human activity, with 128 steps in a constant state of tuning the lights; from a soft, sleeping state when no one is around, to the lightning crashes when people are actively provoking it. 這件作品是由數以百計的纖維組成，對觀眾的動靜和聲音會作出實時反應。作品內安裝了麥克風和感應器以探測觀眾的活動，以128個步驟調校出不同的光暗狀態；從「睡眠」的境地，至人們正積極活動時引發的雷電交加。 < back to artist home
